⚡ ZION Scalp Scan — How to Use
What It Does
Intraday entry scannerScalp Scan identifies short-duration entry setups on the 5-minute chart — specifically VWAP rejection bounces, Middle Bollinger Band (MBB) reclaims, and momentum continuation patterns. It answers the question "where do I enter?" after TrendLock has answered "should I be long?"
Time-gated by designThe scanner enforces a strict time gate — no scans before 10:00am ET, no new entries after 3:00pm ET. This is not a bug. It is protecting you from fuckery hour and end-of-day chop where scalp setups have the lowest success rate.
How to Run It
1 — Run TrendLock firstAlways. Scalp Scan is the entry trigger, not the thesis. If TrendLock shows PRIME ▲ on the 65m, proceed. If not, a Scalp Scan result is meaningless noise — you'd be entering a scalp against the structural current.
2 — Enter the tickerSame symbol you ran through TrendLock. The scan pulls 5-minute data and evaluates it against VWAP, MBB, RSI, and recent price structure.
3 — Read the setup typeThe result identifies the specific pattern — VWAP Bounce Long, MBB Reclaim, or Momentum Continuation. Each has a different risk profile and typical target. Read the full output before sizing in.
4 — Note the suggested stop and targetScalp Scan outputs a structural stop level and a preliminary target based on VWAP extension or MBB distance. These are starting points — cross-reference with TrendLock's Key Levels before executing.
Setup Types Explained
VWAP Bounce LongPrice pulled back to VWAP and is reclaiming it with a bullish 5m candle. Institutions use VWAP as their intraday benchmark — a reclaim means buyers are stepping back in at fair value. Stop below VWAP, target +1SD band or prior high.
MBB Reclaim (Middle Bollinger Band)Price dipped below the 20-period MBB and is reclaiming it. The MBB is the mean of the Bollinger Band system — a reclaim signals returning momentum. Often the cleanest continuation entry in a strong trend day.
Momentum ContinuationPrice broke above a short-term resistance level with volume confirmation. Not a pullback entry — this is a breakout continuation. Higher risk, higher reward. Only valid when 65m TK cross is also bullish and RSI has room to run (<70).
Sizing for Scalps
Scalps use tighter stops than swingsThe structural stop on a scalp is tight — often just below VWAP or the reclaim candle low. This means you can size slightly higher than a swing position while keeping the same dollar risk. Never risk more per trade just because the stop is tight — risk the same dollar amount, let the tight stop translate to larger share size if you choose.
Take profits faster than swingsScalps target intraday levels — VWAP +1SD, prior 5m high, or a 1:2 risk/reward exit. Don't let a scalp become a swing trade by holding past your target. The time decay on short-dated options accelerates into the afternoon.
⚡ The Flow TrendLock PRIME ▲ on 65m → Scalp Scan confirms 5m entry setup → Pre-Trade Checklist GO → Execute with defined stop and target. In that order. Every time.
